At tonight's weekly slam event at the Crossroads Theater, Slam Nuba will introduce a workshop series, slated for the first and last Mondays of the month. The first session of the month will cover new writing and the second will deal with performance style for polished works; both sessions will be led by a changing cadre of local facilitators, guest speakers and visiting poets.
Workshops run from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by the usual signup/slam-poet schmooze period, open mike and featured slam format; admission to the workshop only is $7, but for $10, you're invited to experience the entire evening from start to finish.
And as the Slam Nubians say themselves, "Only ten dollars? Yes, that's right -- an amazing night designed to bust your heart all the way open to deepen your relationship with your expression, plus an open mike and slam filled with incredible performances, hilarious jokes and hijinks, and the very real possibility of impromptu dance parties -- all for only ten dollars."
