Up, Up and Away

Join the crew of Starship Troy tonight for the launch of the third and final season of Buntport’s live sci-fi sitcom. The critically lauded show follows the misadventures of the members of a garbage scow crew as they clean up space, one load at a time. Staffed by a motley group that includes a set of twins conjoined by a length of dryer duct, an ape and a disciple of John Waters (to name just a few), the show manages to send up nearly every cherished tradition and cheesy cliche in TV sci-fi history, from Star Trek’s infamously disposable “red shirts” to the ubiquitous talking computer that oversees everything.

This season not only marks the closing chapters of the Starship Troy story, but it also represents the final episodes of Buntport’s revolutionary live-sitcom theater concept — the last episode of Troy will be the 100th and final sitcom episode for the company.

Buntport is at 717 Lipan Street. The box office opens at 7:30 p.m. and the show starts at 8; tickets are $5 to $7. Space is limited, so come early to get a seat. Visit www.buntport.com or call 720-946-1388 for more information.
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, 8 p.m. Starts: Sept. 23. Continues through Dec. 31, 2008
