If you're curious what you might be getting yourself into attending Boards for Kids this weekend, we've got a preview of some of the decks. You should be able to start scoping them out around 6 p.m. tomorrow evening, but the decks don't actually go on sale until 8 p.m. -- the first $100 will take each one. That's a damn fine deal if you ask us, so it pays to be prepared. We popped in early (before they were hung on the walls, clearly) to pick out a few of our favorites.
If this style looks a little familiar, that's because Paul Romano has done art for Mastodon, Embrace the End and Jedi Mind Tricks, to name a few. But is this the most metal board of the show? Possibly not.
Seriously, look at this thing. Not only do we get this badass skeleton-wizard, but we also get some sweet tentacle shit going on too.
While the above two are exceptionally awesome, the award for most metal goes to Justin Kamerer's design -- why? Because it's etched into the fucking board. Also, it just looks metal, right?
Ryan Willard's is the deck in the middle here, we'll have to apologize, but we didn't catch the name of the person who did the giraffe-cassette-tape-heads. Both are quite rad though. We're not positive if these have titles, but we'd call this one Beards for Kids if they do.
Finally, we have this weird little surfboard type thing. We like it because we picture tiny little smurfs surfing around on it before getting eaten by Gargamel.
