BEST MARGARITA Denver 2006 - Chama

Readers' Choice: Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant
We're not sure who concocted the first margarita -- there are various accounts, none conclusive -- but we know that person was a genius. Combine fresh lime juice with a good, 100 percent agave tequila and triple sec, and eureka! Sadly, over the years that original formula has been bastardized, with sweet-and-sour replacing lime juice, and peaches, strawberries and even mangoes getting spun into Slurpee versions. But Chama takes the margarita back to basics, using fresh lime juice (squeezed every day, never frozen), prime tequila and high-quality triple sec that makes for the best house marg we've found in Colorado. And for a few extra coins, the Chama Silver Coin is heaven in a glass.

The best margarita in Colorado has got to be the Passport at Pete's Greek Town. This top shelf margarita with a greek twist is only found here. You wouldn't believe that a drink that tastes this good could pack such a big punch. This is the best margarita in the town. If you haven't tried one yet you have got to get over there soon. You don't know what you're missing.

Far and away the 'Passport' at Pete's Greektown on Colfax. My boy Jeremy created this incredible top shelf margarita with a serious south of the border tropical flair. There's been nothing like it since the collision of chocolate and peanut butter. If you have more than one of these then make sure you have a DD as the King's motto is "I just make 'em like I like 'em". Make sure 'Hellvis' is working as well, typically on a Friday or Saturday afternoon during HH, otherwise you might not get the real deal. Thank you! Thank you very much!
