I agree, this review is baffling. This is easily the least Americanized Chinese restaurant I've been to in Denver, and by virtue of that also one of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to outside of China. Forget all the crappy neighborhood joints that get their menus from the Chinese restaurant equivalent of Sysco- this is the real thing, and it's exceptionally good.
Best American Chinese Restaurant - 2007
Chopsticks China Bistro - CLOSED
Calling it "Best American Chinese Restaurant" really does not do the justice! As a native Taiwanese, I am fully aware what's authentic Chinese cuisine and what's not. "Chopsticks" menu boasts a great variety of authentic dishes native to many different provinces of China. In my opinion, it's simply the "Best Chinese Restaurant." Do try their Juicy Pork Dumplings in two flavors -- original and crab meat. This is the only place in Denver where you can find them. If you can refrain yourself from poking a hole while picking one up, you will immediately be treated to the heavenly taste when the juice oozes out of the dumpling after you place it in your mouth. If you are vegetarian, they have a great menu to cater to your need, from Tofu On Sizzling Plate to Braised Bamboo Shoots and Shiitake Mushrooms to Loofa Squash in Crab Egg Sauce. If you want to go for some high end items, do try their Peking Duck, the best in town, too!
