The worst fights we've ever seen at Sushi Den haven't been over the last piece of o-toro, but over the last seat at the sushi bar on a Friday night. And that's odd, because we'd punch a nun if she was standing between us and some of the brilliant, beautiful, achingly fresh fish brought in by the convoluted and murderously expensive delivery system that Toshi, Sushi Den's owner, has been laboring for twenty years to perfect. As a result of those Herculean efforts, you can be eating fish on South Pearl Street on Saturday night that was sold Saturday morning on the floor of the Nagahama market in Kukuoka, Japan, and was swimming in the ocean on Friday. There aren't many other restaurants where you can do that -- none in Denver, and few in the country. As a result, this is the only place in town where we'll lay out the greenbacks for real o-toro, where we'll wait an hour or more for surf clam and eel, where we'll fight off that nun for the bright-orange uni presented in a simple slip of black seaweed.

Best inland Sushi in CO, maybe US. Fresh daily, hard to beat. To comment on James...Hapa is not quality sushi. Sorry

Love the food......hate the scene. For that reason, I always go to Japon instead.

Don't go anywhere else for Fatty Tuna!

I could not agree more with Kass. WASABI Sushi Bar rocks. Everything is SO fresh and I can actually afford to fill up. Happy hour pricing cannot be beat. They have tons of rolls with creative combos I have never seen before. I have found something new to crave!

I love Sushi Den but have recently found a much better place in lakewood at Belmar. Wasabi Sushi Bar beats Sushi Den hands down. Great happy hour with prices that you can't find anywhere else. The decor is stunning you have to take a trip to the bathrooms just to look around. The Sashimi is a must try. If you want to get away from the crowds I would go to Wasabi.

My husband and I head to Sushi Den when we have anything to celebrate. The quality is unbeatable and we always marvel at how consistant they are at creating the best sushi we've ever tasted.

I do not agree....worst sushi in Denver, and our entire party got food poisoning. A letter to the restaurant after the incident yielded no response.

Stick to Sushi Sonoma or Hapa.
