North Star Restaurant & Brewery

A longtime resident of Highland, former Wynkoop brewer Kyle Carstens thought the area was perfect for a brewpub -- but it took him years to finally get his North Star brewpub up and running. Still, there's no denying that this place was worth the wait. Not surprisingly, the home brews are great -- but the ambience of the cozy, spring-green-painted spot is also unbeatable. Order up some tater tots, grab a fresh pint of the Pic's Pale Ale, and toast North Star's very bright future.

I totally agree with these other posts. We ordered burgers. they came out looking like elementary school cafeteria food with no side. we had to order tater tots a la carte, which were the best part of the meal. tater tots, fried potatoes, best part of the northstar experience. who in the world voted this place best of?!

We have had a bad experience here, too bad. Food was fair at best and WAY overpriced(10 bucks for a lame sandwich with no sides at all). The beer was also a disappointment. None of the beers I've had are very good and not really true to style(and I'm a beer geek). We like the atmosphere and the people seem happy there but just because you are in the Highlands area doesn't mean you can expect return visits if you are overpriced and underperforming.

Terrible service on my four visits, beer is fine, food is mediocre at best (and the mediocrity ends at 9:30pm). Ambiance is in dire need of improvement with the cold, vanilla furniture and the two sad, little 13 inch TVs from 1970.
