I don't understand why this place gets any awards! I have been there twice and the food was horrible both times. The french toast was cold in the center and my eggs showed up scrambled instead of sunny-side-up. The servers seem to think that they are working in a swanky 5 star restaurant where they don't need to hurry (or even) to get you what you asked for i.e. coffee, water, food...

I wanted to make sure that they might have been on an off night the 1st time but the 2nd time prooved it was hurrible.

New to Denver, so I checked it out. The strawberry & cheesecake pancakes were not so impressive - the strawberries were not fresh, they forgot the graham crackers, and the cream cheese syrup tasted like melted whipped cream. The potatoes had absolutely no taste, but the hotness of the peppers they were cooked with. The bacon was undercooked. The coffee tasted bitter, and burnt. My friend ordered a havarti & avocado omelet, and got a cheese omelet with 4 small slices of avocado as a garnish on the top. The orange juice did not taste fresh squeezed. Don't think I'll be going back to Toast.

After reading several top ten, or number one awards Toast has received I decided to go check it out myself since I am new to the Denver area. After arriving and having to wait (expected) to be seated it took longer than expected to get out drinks. My coffee cup spent more time empty than full. It took longer than expected for our food to arrive. I ordered the big breakfast with the lemon blueberry pancakes. My order of pancakes was thin and disappointing, while my friend who ordered the same thing got great pancakes. We both agree that they were good pancakes if they were just blueberry pancakes. There was no lemon flavor at all that we could discern. It was disappointing. My sausage was very dry, and burnt. I ended up scraping char off of it. The bacon was good. The potatoes were either not seasoned, or over-seasoned. They need to do a better job of distributing the seasoning on the potatoes. We also ordered a side of the regular French toast. It was also disappointing. The bread selection for it was great, the problem being is that they were only lightly coated and then fried leaving the French toast dry in the middle and tough. Artisan bread should be allowed to soak up the custard leaving a nice soft center, with a crisp outer coating. Overall I was disappointed in the experience at Toast. I don�t see myself returning.
