Denver doesn't have an In-N-Out burger. But it has the next best thing: a Griff's, one of the few survivors of an also-ran chain in the burger wars of the last century. We love the weird, lost-outpost vibe of this Griff's, the sense that this spot has been cut off from history and forgotten by the powers that once brought it into being. And if we were ever going to get a tattoo, Griffy — the psychotic, lobotomized clown mascot of Griff's — would be high on our list of possible body art. But even more important, if you pull up to Griff's drive-thru window, you'll be rewarded with a fine burger, excellent fries and a shake so thick it'll kill you if you don't let it thin itself a little before you wrap your lips around the straw.
My Voice Nation Help

griffs its a dive-dirty,in bad need of repairs, the speaker at the drive in barks at you as you drive through the grease on their concrete..............

Tried Griff's based on the Best Of history... not this year's burger reviews (which were a little off.)

Glad I did. The neighborhood was skeevy, the place was a dive, the fries were awesome. Fresh and hot, and seemed to stay hot the entire time I ate them. (Which, let's face it, was not all that long. They disappeared rather quickly.)The burger: of the smashed/thin variety, but still juicy, with plenty of condiments: Fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and pickles and yellow mustard. Hunts' Ketchup in bottles on the side. Old fashioned crunchy-sno-cone type ice.The place was good. Kudos.

I grew up eating at Griff's in Dallas and was very suprised to see one here in Denver, as soon as I saw it I went in for a burger and my childhood days returned. Best cheap burger in town now I really have no reason to go back to Dallas!!!!
