Korean barbecue isn't barbecue at all by the traditional definition — but when it's as good as what's called barbecue at Sae Jong Kwan, who stands on ceremony? Sae Jong Kwan (aka: House of Korean BBQ) is almost a gastronaut hideout, a spot where adventurous eaters gather to stuff themselves with meats and vegetables and other odds and ends all cooked on the little barbecue grills built right into the tables. Join the fun: Bring a bunch of friends, order a bunch of drinks (because there's nothing more adventurous than mixing alcohol and an open grill) and let one of the helpful servers be your guide through the long, detailed and very traditional menu.

After eating twice at Korea House BBQ (nearby) I thought crappy service was just per for the course at Korean BBQ. Not the case here. Great food, attentive service. Will definitly go back again.

I was excited to go tho this place since I love Korean BBQ and we don't have any good places like this in Albuquerque. I thought the food was alright, but the service was horrible. We walked in the door and not one person greeted us for 10 minutes. Then some older lady who didn't speak English acted all pissed because we wanted a BBQ table and they were all full. Then she sat us far away from all the other people and didn't come back for 15 minutes. We should have left but the kdis were hungry and it was getting late. I will never visit this place again.

Sae Jong Kwan is easily the Korean BBQ joint in the area. In fact, it's easily one of Denver's best restaurants, period.

When it comes to their BBQ, you really cant go wrong. And while everything is excellent, the Bul Go Gi, beef tongue and pork belly are especially not to be missed.

Where this place really shines however, is with their mool naeng myun. An ice cold soup made from vinegary/sweet beef stock, buckwheat noodles, beef, julienned diakon and pairs, and 1/2 a hard boiled egg.

May sound weird to those who have never tried it...Trust me though, the shit is so good, and so refreshing, if it were socially acceptable, I'd fill my nalgene bottle with it.
