Ruined my day and weekend. I called for a cab at 1:30 on a Friday afternoon on a site where taxis come through often and where I've been picked up before previously waiting no longer than 20 minutes probably. After a few callbacks and my phone dying 2.5+ hours later, still had no pick up and I missed the chance to pick up my car from the mechanics I've been waiting on for almost seven weeks and can't get it until Monday. Wasted my afternoon to do errands waiting for a ride that never came.
Best Cheap Cab Ride Denver 2011 - Freedom Cabs
Little-known fact: Thanks to Colorado's complicated and unusual taxi laws, our cab companies can charge different meter rates, something that's impossible in most U.S. locales. Here's how those different rates stack up in Denver: Metro Taxi and Yellow Cab charge an estimated $2.25 a mile, while Union Cab clocks in at $2. Freedom Cabs, however, prides itself as being the cheapest of the bunch, at $1.80 per mile. So call Freedom the next time you need a ride: Those purple cabs could save you some green.
THIS IS THE WORST CAB SERVICE EVER!!!!
Do NOT use this service! After waiting for an hour, I called them back to ask the status of my ride. The employee told me that because I didn't have specific address (I did had a VERY specific cross street) I would have to wait a long time for a ride. I politely asked how long it would take, estimably, and he said, "I don't know. You aren't anywhere. You'll just have to wait. Too bad."
I was so furious that I told him I was going to cancel my request and order a different cab but before I could finish my sentence, he hung up!
I ended up standing on a street corner for 2 hours waiting for a ride while this jack ass sits around hanging up on girls who desperately need a ride home at 5am. Worst service ever. DO NOT CALL THIS SERVICE!
I have been waiting for a cab from this company for 2 hours. The dispatcher was totally rude and did not care that I was dissatisfied when I called back to cancel the cab that was not going to show up anyway. In fact she was rude when I called in so I should have known I wasn't getting a cab dispatched.
Do not call this company for a ride anywhere!!!
This article came up on the first page in a google search. This is obviously very old. Is there an update to this post?
BTW, Freedom Cab my be low cost when you are riding alone, but not when you have more than one person. Their additional person add on rate is one of the highest.
I'm really glad I met some nice people in Denver to convince me that not all people are this way. The Freedom Taxi dispatcher last night (Jan 11) was the rudest person I have had the displeasure of talking to in my entire life. After giving my information I was asked where I needed a ride from. I planned on saying the name of my hotel and then the address just to clarify. Before I had the chance to say the address I was interrupted by the dispatcher who informed me that I needed to give an exact address and then proceeded to hang up on me... I was appalled. I unfortunately had no other cab numbers on hand and had to call back. To my dismay, I was put through to the same dispatcher. Who after getting the ride finally set up began to mutter; when asked to repeat what he said, he yelled it in to the phone. The cab showed up an hour and a half later.
Last time I checked taxi services were a customer service based company, I think hanging up on and yelling at customers is not a sustainable business model. Now not only will I never use Freedom Cab again, when asked about Denver taxis, I will actively tell people not to use Freedom Cab.
