Readers' Choice: Seoul BBQ

A one-mile strip of Havana offers a quick tour of Korean food, but Han Kang should be your ultimate destination. Although almost everything on the menu is good and comes with an impressive number of sides to mix and match until you create a perfectly balanced meal, the barbecue is the real draw. Request a table on the tented platform, where your party can gather around a sizzling grill and cook your chosen chunks of meat — marinated with kick of ginger, a hit of garlic, the ambrosial characteristic of honey and the satisfying saltiness of soy sauce. Sometimes working for your dinner pays off.

Whoever writes this column obviously doesn't know what good food tastes like...  Many of these categories have chosen horrible restaurants...  I am just commenting on this one b/c it was the worst choice of them all!  You might need a new food critic doing evaluations... perhaps someone who has a bit more experience and a better "trained" palette...

Been to Hankang twice. Both times we did the dinner for (4) Beef BBQ over the charcoal/ondol. $51 before tip. The marinated beef was pretty good flavor -- not a great value. The Kimchi was decent variety but like rice, kind of skimpy. The BBQ area is GROSS in daylight. We sat under the wall mounted television and I kept looking the greasy-greasy-greasy dust-coated box. The place is run down. Having BEEN to Seoul before this place is a dive. Going to try somewhere else.

I've been here, this doesn't represent good Korean food. The meat has a chemical taste... not good eats. If you must have Korean food in Denver, go to Seoul BBQ. It's not great, but the best you can probably find in the area.
