Voice actors, cosplay junkies and Dance Dance Revolution superstars will converge on the Marriott DTC this weekend for the fifteenth annual Nan Desu Kan, Colorados premier anime convention. The three-day event, expected to draw more than 20,000 people, is devoted to the art and actors whose English voices color familiar Japanese cartoons like Dragon Ball Z and Robotech of anime, with expert panel discussions, autograph signings, musical performances and convention rooms dedicated to karaoke and live Rock Band competitions.
There will also be dozens of seminars, including A Geeks Guide to Social Interaction and a crash course in Gothic Lolita dress and play.
This year in particular, we are very proud of the schedule, says the conventions Jinnie McManus, adding that you dont have to be an anime expert to enjoy the festivities.
Nan Desu Kan kicks off today at 5 p.m. at the Marriott DTC, 4900 Syracuse Street, and runs through Sunday night at 6 p.m. Tickets are $30 to $50 and can be purchased at the door. All ages are welcome, and guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite anime character. For more information, visit www.ndk.com.
