"Pecker makes fun of the serious world of art students and art culture," he says. "And it even has cameos from actual people in the art world, including Cindy Sherman. I like the idea that RMCAD is bringing this film to its students. It shows that they're not afraid to poke fun at the seriousness of art education; they know it's okay to have a good time." Said good time can be had tonight at the 7 p.m. screening in RMCAD's Mary Harris Auditorium, 1600 Pierce Street in Lakewood; admission is free, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. If you lost out in the mad rush for lecture tickets, which disappeared almost immediately, at least there's still this.
