Though Peter Samelson studied physics at Stanford University, he quickly realized that his real passion lay in theater and magic. Since then, he has traveled the world and worked on movies and television creating illusions and putting on magic shows. “The thing that sets me apart from other magicians is that I tend to tell a lot of stories,” he says. “It’s not just a show of tricks, but a show about the human heart and our experience as people.”
From small-scale miracles that take only a wine glass and some coins to larger tricks involving the audience, Samelson combines the surprise of illusion and seemingly impossible feats with theatrical stories of love and laughter. “It invites people to step beyond trying to figure out how these magical mysteries work and to find ways that this might speak to them — the way a beautiful piece of music might, or a great piece of art,” he says.
