Every time I amble through the Denver Art Museum, I have the sudden urge to reach out and fondle one of the many masterpieces adorning its angular walls. If you're like me, and you're not Thomas Crown or an insane burglar from Zurich, then you should consider dropping in on the DAM's DIY project Magnificent Magnets. This monthly installment of the Life Meets Art program gives visitors an opportunity to interact with the museum's artwork in a tangible way. For a fee of $5 (plus regular admission), participants can create magnets using images of the many pieces housed in the DAM's collection. The Do It Yourself programs have covered projects as diverse as creating custom Valentines and designing sassy T-shirts. Fashion your own fridge-friendly masterpiece today from 2 to 5 p.m. on the lower level of the North Building; the DAM is at 100 West 14th Avenue Parkway. For more information, call 720-913-0051 or visit www.denverartmuseum.org.
