The bummer thing about watching The Big Lebowski in a theater is that reciting your favorite lines along with the movie tends to be discouraged — and no film demands such recitations quite like Lebowski. If you want to watch and quote along — without some clever jerk telling you to “Shut the fuck up, Donny” — head to the Alamo Drafthouse’s The Big Lebowski Quote-Along tonight. And even if your knowledge of the film is less than perfect, the Alamo makes it easy to play along.

“We’re pretty good at instructing them on what to do,” says Tom DeFrancia, a partner in the new Alamo. “We have props that we give out, we tell people how to do it — how you use the props, explain that the quotes will be on-screen — so that people are pretty comfortable, even if they’ve never done it before.” And if a few White Russians aren’t enough to lower your inhibitions about talking during a movie, that’s okay: You can always just watch and enjoy the symphony of your fellow film-goers shouting along about what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass.
The fun starts tonight at 7 p.m. at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, 7301 South Santa Fe Drive, Unit 850 in Littleton; tickets are $12.50. For more information and to buy tickets, visit drafthouse.com/denver.
