For the Dogs
Just look at that face the sad eyes, the droopy lips, the furry cheeks. Your dog is trying to tell you something. No, he's not hungry. No, she doesn't need to go outside. It's the loneliness, you ninny; if you can't last six months without some kind of significant other in your world, then how can you possibly expect man's best friend to cope with a lifetime of singlehood?
Fortunately, there are plenty of good four-legged friends out there, and one of them is bound to be perfect for your pooch. Just bring collar, leash and dog to Aspen Grove Lifestyle Center, 7301 South Santa Fe Drive, today for Denver's first-ever mass Doggy Wedding.
"It's gonna be like a dog park," predicts marketing coordinator Kyle Henley. "In addition, we're going to have a whole area set up with vendors and folks from the pet industry, information about adopting dogs, pet care all of that will be available."
Don't worry if your pooch doesn't have a partner or an outfit: The 2 p.m. wedding will be preceded by a canine speed-dating activity, and all brides and grooms will receive veils and bow ties, respectively. To make it even more amusing, comedian Ben Kronberg will officiate.
The event is free, but a requested $50 donation benefits the Denver Dumb Friends League. All dogs must be at least six months old, current with all vaccinations, and on a leash. For more information, go to www.shopaspengrove.com.
