Get on the bus tonight and bring the family! During Night at the Museums, nearly a dozen of the citys museums will stay open from 5 to 10 p.m. and offer free ad-mission and special events in conjunction with Denver Arts Week. None of it will cost you a dime, and you might even cop a deal: If you hop on a shuttle, available on an hourly schedule from Cherry Creek Shopping Center or the Denver Art Museum, youll not only be ferried to all participating venues, but youll also receive a Cherry Creek Passport to Shopping discount coupon booklet, just in time for the holidays.
Start at the Denver Art Museum, 100 West 14th Avenue Parkway, where local troupes Ballet Ariel and the Hannah Kahn Dance Company will treat you to Contemporary Forms in Space and Time, an art-inspired performance in the lobby of the museums Hamilton Building, at 6:30 and 8 p.m. If you hit the place in between, take time to check out Daniel Richters splashy show. Across the way, the Colorado History Museum will feature local watercolorist Barbara Froula, famous for her images of local landmarks, who will preview a painting commissioned by the museum to tout its upcoming show, Denver at 150: Imagine a Great City. Out back, the Byers-Evans House Museum will offer readings by Colorado Homegrown Tales.
