Usually when we talk about getting sauced, were referring to those drunken nights of debauchery that slur our speech and make our heads whirl. But when EatDenver and the 9Health Fair team up for A Saucey Affair, the small plates and sauce showdown that starts simmering at 6 p.m. tonight at Infinity Park Event Center, 4400 East Kentucky Avenue in Glendale, getting sauced will be a much more wholesome activity.
Its the second year for the bash, which features a best-sauce contest judged by celebrities and guests, live music, a silent (and online) auction, and food samples from Root Down, Vesta Dipping Grill, Table 6, Encore, Elways, Snooze, Tarbells and several more chef-owned restaurants. This years event will be bigger and better than last year, as we have sixteen EatDenver restaurants competing, Wynkoop Brewing Company providing brews and Hazel Miller providing entertainment, says Jennifer Stoll, communications and special events coordinator for 9Health Fair, the volunteer-driven health-care program that offers free and low-cost health screenings for more than 100,000 people each year and will be Saucey Affairs beneficiary. Tickets are $65 each; to snatch yours, go to sites.google.com/site/asauceyaffair/ or call 303-698-4455.
