Hail to the Chief
When the Denver 2008 Convention Host Committee decided to display The American Presidential Experience: A Non-Partisan Tribute to Presidential History in a parking lot at Invesco Field at Mile High, they didnt realize Invesco would be making some history of its own as the site of Barack Obamas acceptance speech for the Democratic presidential nomination on August 28. And that threw a bit of a crimp in the shows schedule, since it opens today and is slated to run through August 29; for security reasons, only people who have tickets to Obamas speech will be allowed to enter the grounds of Invesco on the 28th but at least all those people can tour the American Presidential Experience for free. Otherwise, admission is $15, $10 for seniors and kids, which buys access to 150,000 square feet of exhibits celebrating three centuries of presidential history, everything from a life-sized replica of the Oval Office to an original copy of the U.S. Constitution. And you could make some history of your own: Experts from Worthpoint will be on hand to evaluate any antiques you bring in. For more information and tickets, go to www.presidentialexperience.com.
