Ten years ago, Kevin Larson realized that there was almost nowhere to go in Denver where you could get decked out in your finest and ring in the New Year in style. "So that's when I said, 'You know what? If nobody else is gonna do it, I will,'" says Larson. And he did: The result is the New Year's Eve Block Party, which has grown from 400 people to 7,000 over the years.

The bash encompasses two parties at two separate hotels: the 10th Anniversary White Rose Gala at the Hyatt Regency DTC (7800 East Tufts Avenue), and the Champagne Hotel at the Marriott DTC (4900 South Syracuse Street).
This year's White Rose theme is Asian Gala; the party will feature fire performers, geishas, stilt-walkers and much more to end the year with a bang. Champagne Hotel caters to a younger, crazier 21-35 demographic, while the White Rose Gala is a more theatrical, sophisticated and elegant soiree for the 25-50 crowd. Between themed rooms, ten DJs, a twelfth-floor ballroom from which to view the downtown fireworks, and surprises galore, you'll never be without something to do or someone to talk to at this grand event. Purchase tickets -- $59 for White Rose, $49 for Champagne Hotel, and $99 for VIP access to both -- at www.nyeblockparty.com.
