Ice, Ice Baby
Sexpot Comedy – the monthly comedy showcase that's the brainchild of ganjapreneur and pizza tycoon Kayvan Khalatbari –- is back with its second edition, Ice Queens of Comedy, with enough laughs to melt even the most hard-hearted audience.
Tonight's lineup highlights two of Denver’s funniest jokesmiths: host Jordan Doll and Troy Walker. Co-headlining the bill are hilarious out-of-towners Kate Berlant and Beth Stelling, who both had strong showings at the High Plains Comedy Festival this past August. Berlant, who runs the Crime & Punishment weekly comedy show at Cake Shop in New York, is a singularly gifted performer whose flights of surreality puzzle and delight in equal measure. Stelling is a fast-rising star known for her debut appearance on Conan, winning the Internet on Comedy Central’s @Mindnight and crushing her first album, Sweet Beth.
Doors open at 7 p.m. tonight for the 8 p.m. show at the Oriental Theater, 4335 West 44th Avenue. Tickets are $15 – and are also redeemable for a free large pie from Sexy Pizza; visit theorientaltheater.com to reserve yours.
