Prochyra, a Colorado native, hopes to offer a blending of the mortal and natural. Theyre works that consist of trees and human forms, he says. I want to show the tension between human and natural systems, with each transforming into the other. The results come together in several mediums, with woodblock prints, drawings and a sculpture on view tonight. The display is an amalgam of two distinct worlds that, though separated, blend together in a physical and curious way.
Requiem opens tonight at 6 p.m. at Illiterate Gallery, 82 South Broadway, and runs through January 28; admission is free. You can visit www.illiteratemedia.com or call 303-993-4474 for more information.
