Fruitcake has a reputation for being the worst gift ever at least here in the United States. And theres a good reason for that: The fruitcake were used to seeing in these parts is of very poor quality. I think its important to bring back really high-quality fruitcake, says A Grande Finale Patisseries Nicole Hedlund. The Grande Finale fruitcake, for example, is made with pineapple, papaya, mango, cherries and pecans, then soaked in brandy for seven days. Hedlund challenges the public to try it before writing fruitcake off for good.
