Editor's note: Regrettably, this event hosted by Elitch Gardens, the Center and CAP has been canceled. And unfortunately, we only received word of this cancellation after the item was printed in our issue dated October 6, 2011.
Take an amusement park after dark, add three haunted houses, two stages and a VIP section, and what have you got? The Orange Party at Elitch Gardens. Tonight, the park becomes an eighteen-and-older playground for the gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender community, where guests are encouraged to come out in costume and celebrate Halloween with private access to the parks rides. DJ sets by Tatiana, Rockstar Aaron, Lea Luna and more will set the stage as fire dancers and drag queens entertain and help raise money for the Colorado AIDS Project and the Center. The Orange Party gives Denverites a reason to dress up, take a spin on the thrill rides and enjoy the Halloween season by braving it through our Fright Fest haunted houses, says Elitch Gardens spokeswoman Erica Boniface. Tickets are $50 and get you access to all rides and entertainment, or (if youre of age) $100 grants access to the VIP lounge with an open bar. Did we mention no waiting in line for the roller coaster? The Orange Party runs from 8 p.m. to midnight. Tickets and additional information are available at www.elitchgardens.com/glbt or 303-595-4386. -- Bree Davies
