Oscar Night Done Right
During the last Oscars party I can remember, ten of us crammed together on a questionably stained rug about two feet from an iPod-sized TV screen. We ate stale potato chips. Thankfully, there was lots of Pabst.
This year, there's more to be thankful for than cheap beer (not the least of which is the fact that the awards ceremony is actually being televised after all). Tonight starting at 5 p.m. at Neighborhood Flix, 2510 East Colfax Avenue, Hollywood on the Fax is your chance to do Oscars night right. "We love the Oscars," says Michelle Dorant, creative director and co-owner of the theater. "We thought it would be great if people had a nice place to come and watch on a big screen with good food and drink."
The $25 ticket includes appetizer, entree and dessert, with one draught beer or wine, entertaining commentary and a chance to enter the interactive Oscars pool. Proceeds benefit Denver Public Schools middle-school art programs. For more information, call 303-777-FLIX or visit www.flixonthefax.com.
