For the third annual Denver Lumberjack Party, organizer Kiki Nichols wanted to mix things up a bit. "This year, I wanted to use our powers for good," she explains. "We won't have a cover charge, and a portion of the bar tab will benefit the Denver Dumb Friends League. Lumberjacks and furry friends: Who can say no?"

And there's another big change: Instead of crawling to different bars around town, the party is going to stay at the Ginn Mill, 2041 Larimer Street. "The crawl was great last year," Nichols says. "However, as you know with bar crawls, it thins out the crew, because people get left at other bars, or people show up and don't know where everybody is. I thought we'd just try to stay stationary for a couple of hours -- and then, if people feel like doing an informal crawl and parading down the street to the next bar, they're welcome to."
For those who stay put, there will be a special lumberjack shot, a vodka ice luge, and prize raffles that benefit the Dumb Friends League. And, of course, flannel, beards and blue oxen galore. The party starts at 9 p.m. at the Ginn Mill; for more information, go to http://denverlumberjacks.com.
