Putting Up a Good Front
Local intimate-apparel retailer SOL: Store of Lingerie takes undergarments seriously — so seriously that co-owner and professional bra fitter Cindy Johnson has been featured on the Today show several times for her expertise. Staying hands-on with customers has been crucial to the boutique’s success, says co-owner Jeanie Peterson, even as business has grown exponentially over the last decade and a half. “Cindy prides herself on staying connected with her customers,” Peterson says of Johnson, her business partner and sister. When the sisters launched SOL in 1997, Peterson’s business savvy and Johnson’s years of experience in women’s intimate apparel came together to support what is now a world-renowned lingerie store.
And tonight SOL will celebrate fifteen years in the business with a party that kicks off a year of anniversary events. The festivities, a thank-you to customers, will include a new product preview and live performance by SOL model and spokeswoman Tiffany Vartanyan, as well as a photo opportunity in a vintage Nash Roadster, adult beverages, and sweets from Big Fat Cupcakes. In addition, SOL will be giving away a $500 in-store shopping spree and screening a video retrospective of its now-iconic advertising campaigns. A portion of sales from the night will go to the Morgan Adams Foundation, a pediatric-cancer awareness group.
SOL’s fifteenth-anniversary celebration runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at the store, 248 Detroit Street in Cherry Creek North; it’s free and open to all. For more information, go to www.sollingerie.com or call 303-394-1060
