Rolling with It
More than thirty local and national artists will be peddling pedal-themed posters at the fifth annual ARTCRANK Denver show, which happens to fall on the night before the USA Pro Challenge concludes in Denver. From its roots in Minneapolis, ARTCRANK has expanded to include bicycle-themed art shows in sixteen different cities, but spokesman Patrick Murphy says the Denver show has taken on a life of its own.
“We’ve added a lot of new cities to the roster in the last year, and to be honest, it’s made us appreciative of the strength of the show in Denver,” Murphy says. “We’re finding in some of those new cities that you really have to reach for it to build an audience, but Denver has made our job easy since the very first event five years ago. It turns out there’s no shortage of bike-loving artists or art-loving bicyclists in Colorado, so we’ve really got a pretty damn good thing going in Denver, and we’re just kind of rolling with it.”
The handmade, limited-edition posters will sell for $40 each at the show, which runs from 3 to 11 p.m. today in the Freight Building at TAXI, 3455 Ringsby Court. For more information, visit artcrank.com/denver.
