It wasn't a long trip from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Earth System Research Laboratory to the University of Colorado's Fiske Planetarium. But it might have been a strange one — particularly for anyone who happened to catch a glimpse of the traveler, the exhibit Science on a Sphere.

Science on a Sphere consists of a blank six-foot globe suspended from the floor and appearing to float in midair, as well as five computers and four video projectors. Spectators get an astronaut's view of Earth's planetary phenomena — weather patterns, oceans, continents — as well as depictions of others in the solar system, such as the surface of Mars. Visit or call 303-492-5002 for details.
Starts: April 10. Daily, 2007
