Few recreational activities are as polarizing as hunting: Either you're the type of person who enjoys tracking and killing animals for sport, or you're not. If you are the outdoors type, the 2008 Denver International Sportmen's Exposition concluding its weekend run today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Colorado Convention Center, 700 14th Street will provide helpful clinics on fly-fishing, animal calling, outdoor cooking and survival techniques. But in addition to more traditional weaponry, there's another type of ammo the Sportmen's Expo can equip you with: verbal bullets to shoot at those goddamn liberals. Listed among the show's highlights is a clinic on how hunters can defend themselves in verbal brawls with the "antis," hosted by Frank Miniter, author of The Politically Incorrect Guide to Hunting. Presumably, the role of the "Politically Correct Anti" will be played by a camouflaged hunter reading from a script, so PETA members with time to kill are particularly encouraged to attend. Just remember: These people like guns. Get more information at www.sportsexpos.com or 1-800-545-6100.
