"We're a community of people who really want to do business in a new way, focusing on being eco-friendly and socially responsible as well as spiritually aware," explains Cory Johnson of Conscious360.com. That goal is reflected in the Conscious Boutique and Holistic Expo, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at TAXI, 3455 Ringsby Court. "You can get your shopping done or continue it but then also have a little bit of fun and relax, and get a little psychic reading for 2010," Johnson adds. Admission is $5, a portion of which will benefit the Global Children's Peace Project; for more information, call 303-246-9602 or visit www.conscious360.com.
Save time for the ArgusFest Fair Trade Holiday Bazaar, which runs from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the Mercury Cafe, 2199 California Street. ArgusFest's Jason Bosch has lined up a fabulous list of vendors, including People of Hope Crafts, Ladies Sewing Circle, Bead for Life and more. "We'll have fair-trade coffee and all sorts of handmade goods, with an emphasis on local, as well as fair trade from overseas," Bosch promises. Non-profit groups will have stations set up so that you can learn about important issues, and there will also be a few short films, live bands and poets to entertain and educate you while you shop. For all the details, go to www.argusfest.org and happy shopping!
