The Bicycle Longmont Film Festival gets rolling tonight and continues through Thursday. "The fundamental principle behind this and everything we do is to get more people on bikes more often," says Scott Conlin, boardmember of Bicycle Longmont. "We want people to connect or reconnect with cycling and have a great time."

To do this, Bicycle Longmont will screen Race Across the Sky, With My Own Two Wheels and Pedal Driven: a local film, an international film and a film that tells the story of how organizations work with federal agencies to create new trails and a vibrant industry. Each screening program will start at 7 p.m. and include a short as well as a panel of cyclists and advocates who will hold discussions following the movie. A Raleigh cruiser bike and a digital camera will be among the items raffled off at a closing-night party on April 19, when the band Runnin' With Scissors will rock the house.
All events are at the Dickens Opera House, 300 Main Street in Longmont. Tickets are $25 for all three nights, $15 per night at the door, or $10 per night in advance; for tickets or more information, go to www.bicyclelongmont.org.
