No one's done more for the green pepper than the great photographer Edward Weston, whose shapely black-and-white capsicums sport more curves than his nudes when placed side by side for scrutiny. Ditto for the shells and nearly everything else the man ever shot: Weston was a master of light, shadow and the drama of abstracted natural folds and crevices. A contemporary of Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunningham and other twentieth-century masters, he set the bar for artists who followed in his footsteps.

Photographers, collectors and art lovers alike will no doubt stand in awe when 36 original and previously unseen prints from a Weston family collection go on display tonight with a reception from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Camera Obscura Gallery, 1309 Bannock Street. Photographs of Edward Weston continues through June 4; for information, call 303-623-4059 or visit www.cameraobscuragallery.com.
