Wedding Bells

Tony and Tina must really love each other. After all, the two have been married hundreds — if not thousands — of times since Tony n' Tina's Wedding opened off Broadway in 1988. And although their wedding is a little different every time, it's still the craziest, funniest affair you're likely to attend.

Tony's father, Anthony Nunzio Sr., will be there, along with his stripper girlfriend. This rubs salt in the wounds of Tina's mother, Mrs. Vitale, who dated Anthony in high school, before he broke her heart. Officiator Father Mark will get increasingly drunk at the reception, while caterer Vinnie Black will mourn (and perhaps try to revive) his career as a standup comedian.

In short, it's a union of souls — souls from over-the-top Italian families — nestled within a web of vignettes. Audience members will interact with the wedding party, whether they're being seated by the ushers, eating dinner next to the wacky uncle or listening to the bridesmaids gab in the bathroom. No gifts, please; your ticket ($65 to $75) pays for your attendance at the wedding, a full pasta dinner, a champagne toast and a slice of the all-important cake. Tony and Tina get married for the first time tonight at 7 p.m. at the Sherman Street Event Complex, 1770 Sherman Street, and the festivities continue through December 2 (with matinees on Saturday and Sunday). For tickets, call the Comedy Works at 303-595-3637 or visit; for more information, go to
Tuesdays-Fridays, 7 p.m.; Saturdays, 2 & 7 p.m.; Sundays, 1 & 6 p.m. Starts: Nov. 27. Continues through Dec. 2, 2007
