Dubbed "Naked Lynch," the series will unfold as follows: Friday, June 30, and Saturday, July 1, Eraserhead (1977), complete with a heroine's spastic fits and the cries of her mutant baby; July 7 and 8, Wild at Heart (1990), starring Nicolas Cage and Laura Dern in a wonderfully paranoid adaptation of Barry Gifford's cult road novel; July 14 and 15, Lost Highway (1997), in which convicted murderer Bill Pullman may be channeling amnesiac Balthazar Getty; July 21 and 22, Mulholland Drive (2001), Lynch's terminally puzzling tale of memory loss in the wake of an automobile accident; July 28 through August 3, Blue Velvet (1986), the career-making small-town mystery involving a kinky nightclub singer and a sadistic drug dealer, starring Twin Peaks icon Kyle MacLachlan.
With the exception of the Blue Velvet run, all showings will begin at 8:30 p.m. Starz is at 900 Auraria Parkway, in the Tivoli Student Union. For more information, call 303-820-3456 or go to www.denverfilm.org.
