The tale revolves around X (Derek Magyar), who uses his profession as an excuse to avoid emotional entanglements. Nevertheless, a relationship slowly blossoms between him and his roommate, Andrew (Darryl Stephens), with one of X's clients, a distinguished older man named Gregory (Patrick Bauchau), helping to inspire the pair to take a romantic leap of faith. Such simple plot points could have turned dull in lesser hands. But director Allan Brocka draws first-rate performances from Magyar and the rest of the cast, and the dialogue strikes a fine balance between cynicism and sincerity. The result is a sexy love story, with the emphasis on love.
