The event's also a fundraiser for KGNU, which can only help the good vibes. "It's very people-oriented, just like the station," says Mouse Bradshaw, KGNU's membership director and office manager.
So grab the kids and head up to the Gold Hill Inn, 401 Main Street in Gold Hill, and take in some barbecue and brews to the tunes of Sweet Sunny South, the Clay Kirkland Band, Darol Anger, Scott Nygaard and Uncle Squ'Earl (featuring members of Uncle Earl and Darol Anger). The party runs from noon to 5 p.m.; tickets are $12 for KGNU members, $15 for non-members, and free for kids twelve and younger. For information, visit www.kgnu.org; for advance tickets, call KGNU at 303-449-4885.
"We've had a lot of community support over the years," notes Bradshaw. "That's a big deal to us, really being a part of our community."
