Mothers and mothers-to-be, now is the time to be BOLD, at Birth on Labor Day, which aims to improve the quality of maternity care. The day starts with the women-only Red Tent Event at 1 p.m. to get together and share birth experiences, create "birth art," be hennaed and join in a Mother Blessing. At 7:30 p.m., there will be a performance of Karen Brody's Birth, a play telling the story of eight different women's birth experiences. Get BOLD today at the Mercury Cafe, 2199 California Street, or tomorrow in Boulder at the Dairy Center for the Arts, 2590 Walnut Street, where the Red Tent opens at 10 a.m. and Birth hits the stage at 3 p.m. A minimum $5 donation is requested for entry to the Red Tent, and because space is limited, registration is required. Tickets for Birth are $15.50, $12.50 for students and seniors. Get more information at www.birthonlaborday.com; buy tickets for Birth and register at www.freewebs.com/denverbold2007.
