Like this untraditional scavenger hunt at the Loveland ski area, for example, in which contestants both individual and team -- will hunt for clues from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants are given clues to the next step, says Simpson. At certain points, people may be asked to don a costume and become part of the event. Over the course of the day, that could involve anything from becoming Bigfoot or a crazy chicken to donning prom dresses and wild wigs. Contestants with the most points at the end of the day will receive prizes at the 3 p.m. after-party.
Loveland is located off I-70 at exit 216. Admission is a $35 lift pass plus a $10 participant fee that gets you a special New Belgium pint glass; proceeds benefit the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado. For more information, call 970-221-0524 or go to www.newbelgium.com/hunt.
