Yep, the arts are kind of gay and to thank that group of festive folks for their continued support, the company is throwing the third annual OUT @ Curious bash, a celebration of the warm relationship that exists between thespians and, uh, lesbians, if youll excuse that joke. Hosted by Channel 2s Chris Parente the most fabulous thing currently going in local celebrity (he recently filled in for Regis Philbin on Live! With Regis & Kelly, by the way), the party is dedicated to One Colorado, a newcomer lobbying organization that advocates for LGBT equality and that, says Benvenuti, is ultimately why Curious elected to stick with Circle Mirror rather than go with a performance of a work that directly addresses LGBT issues, as its done for OUT in the past. We didnt want a battle between focusing on One Colorado and focusing on the show itself, she explains. We wanted to put the focus on them.
The evening costs $40 to $50 ($100 if you want to go to the post-show reception with Parente and the Circle Mirror cast), starts at 6 p.m. tonight with a pre-show cocktail hour at Curious Theatre Company, 1080 Acoma Street.
