A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, a group of like-minded people came together to celebrate their two favorite things: literacy and Star Wars. And, like the movie series, their celebration lives on…and on. The second annual Star Wars Reads Day, an intergalactic holiday marked across the country today, includes a free event at the Tattered Cover Highlands Ranch, where activities for all ages will include crafts for the young Padawans and a trivia contest for more experienced Jedi.

“We are going to be joined by members of the 501st Legion Mountain Garrison [the world’s leading group in Star Wars costuming]. We have confirmed that there will be many Stormtroopers with us, as well as Darth Vader,” says Charles Stillwagon, event manager for the TC. And Princess Leia might even make an appearance.

The fun begins at 2 p.m. at the store, 9315 Dorchester Street in Highlands Ranch. For more information on this event, visit tattered-cover.com; for a complete schedule of additional local Star Wars Reads Day activities hosted by the Denver Public Library, go to denverlibrary.org/star-wars-reads.
