The story of Damien Echols — a member of the West Memphis Three, who were released from prison in 2011 after serving nearly eighteen years on a murder conviction for crimes they say they didn’t commit — isn’t quite over yet. On the heels of Echols’s best-selling memoir Life After Death comes another: Yours for Eternity: A Love Story on Death Row ($27.95, Blue Rider Press), written with his wife, Lorri Davis, whom he met, corresponded with and eventually married in 1999 while incarcerated at the Tucker Maximum Security Unit in Arkansas.

Davis, a New York landscape architect who first became aware of Echols after viewing West Memphis Three documentary Paradise Lost, became instrumental in working on his appeals and eventual release from the jaws of death row for more than a decade following their wedding. The book follows their romance and years of legal wrangling through the letters they wrote back and forth.
