Magazine promotions don't get much cooler than Fader's vinyl single series, produced in conjunction with Southern Comfort, which presses edgy indie music on old-school jukebox 45s. The seventh offering is a case in point. The A-side features Brooklyn-based Telepathe, whose "Heat" raises temperatures with a monstrous synth riff that makes dancing mandatory. And Brooklyn gets more love on the flip thanks to 77Klash, whose "Caroline" combines post-millennial Jamaican-style toasting with a beat reminiscent of primo U.K. garage. The whole thing comes encased in an eyecatching sleeve by artist Dash Shaw, seen here, and it's available for free as long as supplies last. And after the singles are gone, a free download remains available for those who sign up for a Fader newsletter. Click here for details. -- Michael Roberts
