Absolutely killer show last night. Make no mistake: We're not being haughty here, particularly since it really had nothing to do with Andy or I. We were dependably dooftastic as always. No sir. Show was epic thanks to a sweet, sweet playlist and some stellar guests. With regard to the latter, we received a call from a listener with perhaps the most gratifying query: Who was that?, in reference to one of my favorite songs at the moment, by a group called Good Housekeeping, followed by Are they really local? Uh-huh. First up was the incredibly stunning Elin Palmer, who offered insight into the making of her new record, dished on who will be backing her this Friday night at the hi-dive and regaled us with a yarn about blowing up (?) a roomful of white balloons (sans a helium canister!) for her brand new video. Next was the members of Houses -- all of seven them! While it was obviously wonderful to be blessed with their presence, in our tiny studio it made for quite the, ahem, full house. The rest of the show was devoted to the finest handpicked local music, including a half-dozen or so brand new, hot off the presses, unreleased tunes from our two guests, plus the Jim Jims, the Psuedo Dates, Mama, the Rouge and the Alan Baird Project -- a number of tracks which you'll be able to download here for free later today. See the full playlist after the jump.
