Handle Bar and Grill, the bicycle-themed shrine, bar and restaurant at 305 South Downing Street, is greasing up to reopen as Downing Street Bar and Grill, a "great bar and restaurant with the kind of really good American food that the neighborhood loves," says owner Paul Gatchis, who plans to completely remodel and reconceptualize the space and tweak the menu. "We're redoing the dining room, taking out the game room and expanding the bar, adding a breakfast menu, a double happy hour and some new menu items, including more salads, burgers and dinner items," explains Gatchis.

In place of cruisers, bicycle jerseys and chains, Gatchis is going to clutter the walls with monthly-changing artifacts. "I've got a whole garage full of really cool stuff that, I think, will stimulate conversation and curiosity," says Gatchis. Beginning in mid-March, he'll start rolling out two-for-one breakfasts Monday through Friday, and the kitchen will also offer all-you-can-eat jumbo chicken wings. "We've got a lot of really fun things planned for the neighborhood," he says. You'll have to wait until Friday, February 12 to partake, however, since that's the target opening date.
