Breckenridge Brewery's 22nd anniversary is this Saturday, but that's not the only reason the company has to celebrate. The brewery -- which merged with Wynkoop Brewing Co. in 2011 -- just received approval of a somewhat complicated method of expansion and will move forward immediately on building a new facility in the metro area.

Here's what else is on tap this week:

Thursday, July 5

Copper Kettle, 1338 South Valentia Street, will institute a new happy hour starting today. Get $1 off beers from 3 to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Friday, July 6

Hops & Pie, 3920 Tennyson Street, is tapping a firkin of Ska Brewing's Old-Man Bitter at 6 p.m. tonight. Beer description: "A mix of citrus and pine that will remind you of the time you went on a vision quest with your native American cousin and woke up in a pine grove full of grapefruit trees."

Saturday, July 7

Twisted Pine, 3201 Walnut Street in Boulder, is celebrating the release of Hoppy Girl -- the latest beer in the brewery's Artisan Ale Project -- with a party and art show from noon to 9 p.m. today. The new brew is a Double IPA dry-hopped with Cascade hops, hibiscus, jasmine and rose buds and weighs in at 8.5% ABV. The label was created by local artist Kate Medlin, whose art will be on display at the party.

Breckenridge Brewery hosts its 22nd Anniversary Party with "a pig pickin' foot stompin' hoedown" today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at brewery headquarters, 471 Kalamath Street. A $22 ticket gets you unlimited Breckenridge beer (including firkins, limited releases, and never released brews), live music from the Colorado Goat Ropers Guild, Zolopht & the Destroyers and Gun Street Ghost, and barbecued pork (until it is gone). The Colorado Craft Beer Show will be broadcasting live from noon to 2 p.m. Tickets are available here.
