The Digs: Walking into Crêpes 'n Crêpes is a treat, thanks to a vibe that immediately teleports you to a French bistro along a side street in Paris. Nestled into a small enclave of shops in central Cherry Creek, Crêpes 'n Crêpes has withstood the test of time, change and astronomical rent that has driven many longstanding business owners out of the area. A long bar runs the length of the crêperie, the walls are painted warmly and the small space is comfortable enough to stay for hours. Tables line the windows, and when the weather is warm, diners can enjoy the private enclosed patio as well as the streetside patio out front.
The Verdict: The happy hour experience at Crêpes 'n Crêpes is not to be missed. Although the charming waiter with his thick French accent warned of smaller than normal crêpes during happy hour, the portion size was entirely adequate, and we were stuffed two bites into our dessert. The food is fresh and delicious, and the crêpe hot plates are placed in plain view of the stools at the bar, which allows for the charming staff to chat up patrons as they make their meals. The spinach and feta crêpe ($4) is simple, but the combination of flavors wows the palate. The banana, strawberries, and Nutella dessert crêpe ($5), washed down with a bubbly glass of Domaine Saint Michelle brut, is heaven on earth and will quickly void any stress you're holding onto.Overall Grade: A
