Located in the former Valente's Italian Restaurant, which closed in 2008 after 44 years, Colorado Plus will also include a full kitchen headed by chef Doug Sattem, who is planning a menu of fresh-from-scratch sausages and gourmet sliders, along with salads, vegan food and pub fare that's "easy to hold in your hand with a glass of beer in the other," says Colorado Plus co-owner Eugene Kahng.

The venue will also include an outdoor beer garden and an art gallery upstairs featuring work by Wheat Ridge artist Terry Womble.
In June, owners Kahng and Jesse Duplessis and brewmaster Adam Draeger (who is also the brewmaster at the Yak & Yeti in Arvada), will open a one-barrel nanobrewery inside the space and begin making their own beers to serve on-site.
The brewpub is behind schedule because of permitting issues, Draeger says.
Kahng got into craft beer when he hosted tastings at the nearby Vern's Liquors, which he'd owned for six years and where he met brewers and other employees of many local beer makers, including Great Divide, Upslope, Golden City and Yak & Yeti.
Colorado Plus will be Wheat Ridge's second beer maker; Brewery Rickoli opened last year at 4335 Wadsworth Boulevard.
